About the Mural

Written by Sheryl Benjy

I am an Iranian American artist that immigrated with my parents during the 1979 revolution and I wanted to show my support to the people and women of Iran.  We painted portraits of Iskar’s daughter because of his love for the women in his family.  I also painted red poppy flowers that are named Shaghayegh that are very popular flowers in Iran and it is my Iranian name.  The doves represent peace.
